Description We are looking to add a Staff Accountant to our team based in Lebanon, New Hampshire. The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in assisting with all accounting and administrative tasks within our Wholesale Distribution industry. This role provides a unique opportunity to work with a diverse team and contribute to our commitment to maintain accurate customer credit records, process customer credit applications efficiently, and resolve customer inquiries.
Conduct daily reconciliation of account transactions and verify banking transactions.
Maintain accounts receivable balances and ensure the accurate and timely billing to customers.
Establish records for new business accounts and oversee the accurate application of customer deposits and payments.
Undertake office manager duties including monitoring supplies, mail, cleaning schedule, and liaising with the property manager for facility issues.
Develop and implement procedures for the department, assess their success, and implement improvements where needed.
Analyze customer account data for trends and prepare management reports.
Maintain accurate and complete accounts payable records, including reconciliation between different systems.
Participate in month-end and year-end activities, including preparing schedules and work papers, reconciling accounts, and assisting in financial package preparation. Requirements - Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar position
Demonstrable knowledge and experience with Accounts Payable (AP)
Proficiency in managing and maintaining the General Ledger
Proven ability in performing Month End Close procedures and tasks
Experience in conducting Bank Reconciliations
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is desirable
Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and best practices
Ability to work within a fast-paced wholesale distribution environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
