Staff Accountant

Description

We are offering a contract to hire opportunity for a Staff Accountant position in Albany, New York, United States. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in our clients team, focusing on the processing and management of financial transactions and records. You will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations, which are integral to our business in the Medicaid services industry.

Responsibilities

• Handle the processing of accounts payable and receivable transactions.

• Execute bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.

• Maintain and manage the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and up-to-date.

• Prepare and record journal entries as part of the financial tracking process.

• Conduct month-end close procedures to finalize financial records for the month.

• Utilize NetSuite and Oracle to manage financial data and transactions.

• Leverage QuickBooks and SAP in the management and processing of financial information.

• Oversee the financial aspects of health home program operations.

• Manage the financial elements of grants, including state and federal funding applications.

• Handle the processing of monthly vouchers to ensure timely and accurate payments.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• 2-3 years of professional accounting experience.

• Proficiency in Oracle NetSuite is required.

• Knowledge of Medicaid services and grant management is highly desirable.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
