    In this role you will be a key member of Medtronic's center-led Indirect Supply Management (ISM) team and will report to the Director of Operating Unit Savings Programs. This is a global category role that provides the opportunity to identify and execute value-driven strategies across global functions, regions, and businesses.?These strategies will leverage Medtronic's scale to drive year-over-year value. In this role, you will partner with both functional and business teams to develop and implement pan-Medtronic category strategies and process improvements across the globe.

    A Day in the Life

    Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

    • Create value across ~$250M+ in annual spend across variety of categories

    • Build category strategies; the domain is fairly immature and requires significant development effort

    • Build strategic relationships with internal stakeholders/leadership and critical suppliers?

    • Engage and influence multiple stakeholders to adopt and implement strategies developed by the category team.

    • Medtronic is a highly matrixed organization and having the ability to influence and leverage the matrix is a key requirement

    • Execute improvements on long-term, transformational, strategic initiatives

    • Achieve (year-on-year) value improvements for all aspects of quality, service, innovation, and cost

    • Perform RF(x) events to drive competitive pressure and ensure maximum value is realized

    • Recommend solutions to business problems and/or identify opportunities for improvement, and present ideas to leadership

    • Guide improvements in the source-to-pay value stream

    • Develop global standards and best practices

    • Coach employees at varying skill levels to develop advanced sourcing skillsets

    • Demonstrate business acumen and market intelligence

    Must Have: Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelors degree required

    • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience

    Nice to Have

    • Global Category Management experience (Strategy Development and Execution in accordance to Strategic Sourcing methodology)

    • Deep understanding of Source-to-Pay value stream and track record of driving efficiencies across it

    • Expertise building robust strategies and partnering cross-functionally for savings/avoidance

    • Inquisitive and critical thinker

    • Experience in Indirect Procurement with responsibility for enterprise-level agreements and programs

    • Influencing teams and external suppliers to deliver

    • Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, communication, negotiation, tact, judgment, and organizational skills ?

    • Demonstrated strength in analytical skills - Highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI

    • High attention to detail

    • Excellent written and verbal communication

    • Project management ability to effectively manage multiple projects and staying laser focused on priorities

    • Continuous improvement mindset - commitment to optimizing efficiencies and effectiveness across categories.

    • Positive and energetic team player with strong cross-functional team experience

    The provided base salary range is used nationally (except in certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
