The Phased Array Mechanical Design and Aircraft Integration team is seeking a Mechanical CAD Engineer to support customer engagement pursuits and proposals. Candidate will be training in-house personnel, in particular supporting the Family of Systems campaign, and any follow-ons. You will mentor, guide and teach individuals in the antenna design technical domain. You will be utilizing your in-depth knowledge to help develop and grow the knowledge base of mechanical engineers within Raytheon. This is an onsite position in El Segundo, CA.

What You Will Do

• Provide detailed input for customer interface and/or proposal packages

• Manage and manipulate large CREO antenna design assemblies

• Conduct open office hours for any member of the Space & Airborne Mechanical Systems Mechanical Engineering staff to leverage specific knowledge and experience in Antenna requirements definition, design, and integration.

• Antenna design, Pedestal design, and requirements definition for these and supporting radar architectures for radar integration onto current and future platforms.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.

• Experience in electrical/mechanical packaging, harnessing, structures, cabling, surfacing and mechanisms

• Experience developing and implementing new products via pursuits and proposals

• Experience with Windchill data management (PDM) tool

• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Knowledge in Aircraft Integration

• Knowledge in Antenna mechanical design and Pedestal design

• Understanding of principles, theories and concepts for creation and preparation of engineering design documentation

• Technical knowledge to perform tasks such as preparation/changes to drawings/models and create new 3D models and drawings with minimal to no direction

• Candidate will have an understanding applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to models/drawings

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

This is a temporary position of an undetermined length.

The salary range for this role is $62/hr to $130/hr. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
