    • The Senior Manager Air Safety Investigations and Emergency Response reports to the Managing Director Safety and Efficiency

    • Provide oversight to the Air Safety Investigation team

    • Responsible for all NTSB and foreign agency accident and incident investigations involving American Airlines

    • Responsible for the strategic vision and daily management of the Emergency Planning & Response department

    • Provide oversight of the Corporate Event Reporting System (CERS) and WBAT safety reporting

    What you'll do

    • Oversee the team of Flight Safety Investigators who are tasked with the responsibility to efficiently and effectively investigate all NTSB and foreign agency incidents and accidents

    • Oversee the training for the accident investigation go-team members

    • Manage relationships with safety representatives from regulatory authorities, investigative authorities, and governing bodies. (FAA, NTSB, ICAO, etc.)

    • Directs the development and maintenance of aircraft/inflight safety training policies, procedures, schedules, and materials as they relate to the emergency response progra

    • Develops and updates the Company's Emergency Response Manual

    • Develops, implements, and coordinates the Company's Incident Response Plan

    • Develops and conducts company-wide emergency response drills, manifest reconciliation drills, and other ancillary drills periodically to test the readiness and dependability of the Emergency Response Plan

    All you'll need for success

    Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent years of experience.

    • 5 years related airline frontline operational experience as pilot, dispatcher, mechanic or flight attendant

    Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

    • Previous experience and advanced training in aviation accident investigation, emergency response, human performance and SMS

    Skills, Licenses & Certifications

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of management effectively and professionally and with outside agencies to include the FAA, NTSB, TDA and labor associations

    • Ability to travel to domestic and international destinations

    • Experience with Corporate Event Reporting System (CERS) and Dispatch Environmental Control System (DECS)

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
