  • Job Description Summary

    GE HealthCare's global internal communications team is seeking a skilled communications director with experience in engaging leaders and employees, communicating business strategy, and reinforcing culture through informative and inspiring content. This role will drive the leadership engagement strategy for the company and support internal communications for key organizations, including the Science & Technology Organization and Transformation Office.

    In this role, you will own the company's approach for engaging all levels of leadership to communicate key messages and drive action and understanding. In addition, you will provide internal executive leadership support for key organizations, develop messaging and content, and recommend the most effective strategies for driving understanding of our priorities and technology and business strategies. The scope of support includes building an enterprise-wide communication strategy to engage leadership at all levels, communicating internally for the Science & Technology Organization and Transformation Office, and developing innovative approaches to engage all colleagues around our priorities and business strategy.

    The experience and skills necessary for success include strategic planning, innovative thinking, project management, a focus on details and process, strong writing and editing, and experience with internal communication tools, channels and metrics. To be impactful, you must be able to partner effectively with leaders and business partners, convey complex topics in easy-to-absorb ways, manage multiple projects simultaneously, understand and apply communications tactics to the meet the unique needs of different audience segments, execute flawlessly, and assess metrics to drive continuous improvement.

    Job Description

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    This role will

    • Lead the internal leadership engagement communications strategy, developing effective and innovative approaches for engaging leaders at all levels.

    • Support the Science & Technology Organization and Transformation Office internal communications strategies. Drive understanding and engagement among all colleagues around our company's technology strategy and future vision as well as our company priorities and strategic approach.

    • Develop relationships with executive clients to build strategic communication plans aligned with their business priorities and ensure all communications work supports the overall communications strategy.

    • Create an engagement strategy that effectively uses key internal communications platforms, including GE HealthCare's internal intranet and news site; understand internal communications tools and technology and related performance metrics to measure reach and effectiveness of communications.

    • Deploy strong writing, editing and storytelling skills across a variety of deliverables, including key messages, narratives, internal news articles, video scripts and more.

    • Align work with the overarching internal communications strategy to ensure a consistent and engaging employee experience and collaborate across the broader Corporate Marketing and Communications team to ensure alignment with company messaging and communications tools and materials.

    • Manage multiple priorities and deadlines as necessary while working in a fast-paced environment and drive first-time quality and innovation in all areas of communications work.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree preferably in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Marketing or related field.

    • 8+ years communications experience covering internal communications

    Desired qualifications:

    • Experience developing annual communications plans and engagement calendars for sizeable teams and projects; able to gather and incorporate multiple viewpoints and priorities and establish a go-forward communications strategy.

    • Ability to understand business challenges and priorities and use communications expertise to recommend best practices and inform decision making; serve as communications expert with clients.

    • Experience with leadership and organizational or functional communications.

    • Ability to communicate complex information in an easy-to-understand and compelling manner, both written and verbally, and influence colleagues to take action when necessary.

    • Strong executive presence; experience working across multiple levels, functions and global regions.

    • Able to manage multifaceted projects and deliverables autonomously with an eye for detail, quality and deadlines; must be able to work well on multiple tasks within the same timeframe, sometimes with conflicting deadlines and under pressure.

    • Possess strong foundational skills, including written communication, storytelling, grammar, presentation and strategic planning.
