    Fairview Health Services is hiring a casual Senior Exercise Physiologist to join our CV Imaging team at our St Johns Hospital location in Maplewood, MN and Woodwinds in Woodbury, MN. This casual position will cover PTO and last minute sick calls in our team. It could be 2-8 shifts a month but will average being 2-4 shifts a month.

    The Exercise Physiologist assists the proctor RN with all modalities of cardiac stress testing including GXT, stress echo & nuclear studies. They are responsible for patient education on the use of Holter and event monitors. They also will perform 12 lead EKGs on inpatients and outpatients at our facilities. The most sought after benefit we offer with this role is a 403B savings plan!

    This casual role would pick up shifts Monday-Friday and no weekends.

    Responsibilities Job Description

    Direct patient care-Monitor, assess and provide appropriate exercise interventions for inpatient/outpatient, exercise pharmacologic stress tests, and cardiopulmonary stress tests. Monitor physiological responses including:

    • Heart rate

    • Blood Pressure

    • Electrocardiogram

    • Respiratory rate

    • Signs and symptoms

    • Determine exercise/test termination and recovery time.

    • Document appropriate subjective findings

    • Provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served.

    Ability to perform technical procedures

    • EKG's

    • Holter monitor placement and scanning

    • BP monitor placement

    • Event monitor placement

    • Collect, assess, and report data

    • Prepare reports for physician interpretation with department software

    • Properly document pertinent patient information

    • Communicate with other healthcare providers as needed

    • Medical emergency response and intervention

    • Administer cardiac life support during medical emergencies

    Equipment troubleshooting

    • Check equipment prior to testing to ensure proper operation of equipment

    • Initiate service calls as necessary

    • Orient and train department members

    • Evaluate current knowledge levels

    • Determine orientation and training g needed and institute the plan

    • Validate competency of trainee

    • Assess and make recommendation to manager regarding competency of trainee.

    • Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Masters Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science

    • 0-2 years cardiac rehabilitation, stress testing or Holter monitoring experience

    • BLS
