Hopkins is located 7 miles west of Minneapolis, boasting natural surroundings in a suburban environment that also provides quick access to major travel ways and local restaurants that give our community a distinct character. Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the overall creation, development, and maintenance of effective EHS and risk management programs for the organization and its projects. The position creates, implements, and develops strategy, policy, processes, systems, and tactics to deliver world class safety performance for all manufacturing and farm sites. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead all employee's/contractors to achieve zero safety and environmental incidents built on the principles of personal accountability, influencing behaviors, leading indicators, and a culture of active employee engagement. Lead efforts to identify, evaluate, and mitigate occupational and environmental risks associated with manufacturing and farm operations, including but not limited to, soil conservation, water resource management, and animal welfare. Lead people and facility risk assessment and emergency response. Create a high performing culture of risk awareness. Ensure that risk assessment is inclusive of all people. security and facility risks. Ensure the ongoing continuous improvement of SRMP through focused risk and loss analysis to improve systematic and behavioral components of the program to drive results. Evaluate, improve and sustain an Emergency Response (ER) program that is responsive, effective, and provides reliable coverage. Be able to facilitate and build competency in Crisis Management for the organization. Establish security program that protects people, product and facilities from internal and external harm. Work closely with the Food Safety and Quality group to ensure program coordination and execution across functions. Champion the development and execution of sustainable practices and technologies that reduce environmental impact, enhance operational efficiency, and support long-term ecological balance. Utilize technology and advanced practices to improve EHS systems for the network. Drive cultural change towards an ingrained safety and environmental stewardship mindset among employees at all levels, from manufacturing and farm workers to executive leadership. Conduct EHS audits and risk assessments across various settings, ensuring compliance with evolving standards and practices. Lead and mentor the EHS team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and accountability. Coordinate with site leadership, site safety managers and SRMP element teams to ensure that all aspects of the company's EHS results and programs are working in concert and that effective leadership is being exercised in each. Maintain safety performance data, analyze trends, report on statistics, and manage noncompliance. Establish consistent, effective processes for managing all near misses, hazard/accident investigations and reports. Assure timely issuance of safety alert communications, alert tracking, and documentation of alert closings. Develop a comprehensive risk management and sustainability program with short- and long-term goals & objectives. Collaborate with internal departments and external resources ensure the integration of enterprise safety, security risk initiatives and practices Model safety, security and risk leadership behaviors to management, staff, and associates. Engage with industry groups, regulatory agencies, and community stakeholders to advocate for sustainable practices and policies. Stay at the forefront of EHS trends, research, and regulatory changes, adapting strategies as necessary to maintain compliance and industry leadership. Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Industrial Engineering, or related field. 15+ years of progressive EHS experience with focus in manufacturing and/or agricultural operations. 10+ years leading, designing, and managing EHS sustainability strategies and programs. 7+ years leading multi-facility, geographically dispersed organization. Budget planning and management; involved in EHS capital project process from design to start-up. PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Master's degree in safety management, industrial health and safety, or related field. Certified safety professional. Experience in food manufacturing. Proficient in Microsoft office. Experience with EHS management systems - Intelex. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (if applicable) Requires frequent standing, walking, and climbing of 4+ hours when in manufacturing or farm facilities. Travel up to 70%
