    SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is a Department of Energy national lab run by Stanford in the heart of Silicon Valley. We invent scientific tools to explore the universe at its biggest, its smallest and its fastest.

    Position Summary:

    SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Fundraising Strategist who will be responsible for assessing the feasibility of raising funds for SLAC, evaluating our donor pipeline, and designing a comprehensive fundraising strategy that aligns with our mission and goals. Reporting to the Associate Dean for Development in the School of Humanities and Sciences, the ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of fundraising principles, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for scientific research and innovation. This is an 18-month fixed-term assignment.

    In this role you will:

    • Feasibility Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments to determine the viability of potential fundraising initiatives, including capital campaigns. Analyze market trends, donor demographics, and fundraising landscapes.

    • Donor Pipeline Evaluation: Review and assess the current donor pipeline to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for expansion. Utilize data analysis to track fundraising progress and donor engagement.

    • Fundraising Strategy Development: Create and implement a strategic fundraising plan that outlines target goals, timelines, and measurable objectives. Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment with SLAC's mission and priorities.

    • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain relationships with current and prospective donors, stakeholders, and partners. Engage with the community to promote awareness of SLAC's contributions to scientific research and innovation.

    • Communications and Outreach: Design compelling materials that communicate SLAC's mission and fundraising goals to prospective donors.

    • Reporting and Evaluation: Establish metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of fundraising strategies and programs. Prepare data-driven reports to inform SLAC leadership and stakeholders of progress and outcomes.

    • Team Collaboration: Demonstrate a commitment to promoting and supporting an environment of diversity and inclusion. Work closely with development colleagues across the university, to coordinate fundraising efforts and leverage resources effectively.

    To be successful in this role you will bring:

    • Bachelor's degree and eight years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.

    • Demonstrated effectiveness in prospect identification, relationship building, and solicitation.

    • Demonstrated experience mentoring and working with volunteers, faculty, and staff.

    • Superior written and oral communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to articulate a compelling case for philanthropic support programs.

    • Ability to translate complex concepts into compelling development proposals.

    • Ability to work effectively with faculty, top executives, and community leaders.

    • Demonstrate a commitment to promoting and supporting an environment of diversity and inclusion.

    The expected pay range for this position is $165,382 - $192,532 per annum.
