  • The Obesity, Muscle and Metabolism group at Regeneron is committed to developing transformative medicines to treat obesity, metabolic, endocrine and muscle diseases. We are seeking a Sr. Associate Scientist with solid expertise in integrative metabolism, energy balance and the interconnection between the brain and peripheral organs. The candidate will be responsible for implementing thorough ground-breaking in vivo mechanistic studies for target discovery, validation, and novel therapeutic development.

    Independent scientists with a strong command of in vivo and ex-vivo neuroscience or metabolism based techniques, molecular biology and biochemistry are encouraged to apply.

    As a Sr. Associate Scientist in the Metabolic and Muscle Disease group, a typical day might include the following:

    • Planning and conducting in vivo assays including injections, blood collection, metabolic cage assessments, rodent stereotaxic injections and surgeries.

    • Planning, initiating, and completing ex vivo brain immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, fluorescence and bright field microscopy.

    • Supporting and assisting with molecular cloning, RT-qPCR, ELISAs, western blotting, immunoprecipitations, cell culture or single nuclei isolations for RNA-Seq

    • Learning new methods and/or technologies relevant to various projects

    • Accurately documenting findings and lab records in an electronic laboratory notebook

    • Data presentations in formal and informal meetings

    • Becoming proficient with the science underlying team projects

    To be considered for the Sr. Associate Scientist role, you will have a ~~~. with at least 3 years of reseach experience, in Neuroscience, Metabolism, Physiology or related field. Strong hands-on experience with mouse handling, injections and blood collection as well as in vivo neuroscience-based approaches including stereotaxic surgeries, optogenetics, and/or in vivo assessment of metabolism is essential. Research experience with brain IHC/ISH, neuronal culture, single-nuclei RNASeq and/or spatial transcriptomics is desirable. Broad experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, flow cytometry, and in vitro and ex-vivo assays are an asset. Excellent written and presentation skills are essential.
