Sr. Accountant

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the construction/contractor industry, located in NOVI, Michigan. The Sr. Accountant will play a crucial role in our team, focusing on processing customer applications, maintaining accurate customer records, and resolving customer inquiries. You will also be responsible for monitoring customer accounts and taking appropriate actions.

Responsibilities

• Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently

• Maintain accurate customer credit records

• Balance sheet reconciliation, ensuring all figures are correct and up to date

• Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure all financial data aligns

• Utilize Microsoft Excel to track and analyze financial data

• Perform month-end close procedures, ensuring all accounting tasks are completed within the set timeframe

• Utilize Viewpoint Spectrum for various accounting tasks

• Monitor and manage work in progress (WIP) accounts

• Handle full cycle accounting duties, from initial entry to final report

• Manage and oversee all aspects of accounts receivable (AR) to ensure payments are made and received on time. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.

• Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience as an accountant, preferably in the construction/contractor industry.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Demonstrated experience with Month End Close processes.

• Familiarity and experience with Viewpoint Spectrum software.

• Understanding and experience with the percentage (%) of completion method in accounting.

• Knowledge and experience with Work in Progress (WIP) accounting.

• Experience with Full Cycle Accounting.

• Proficiency in managing Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
