Sr. Accountant

Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Sr. Accountant for a local certified public accounting firm located in Union County, New Jersey. This role involves tax preparation, maintaining books and records, meeting deadlines, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of tax documents including 1040's, 1065's, and 1120's. - Handling returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. - Utilizing QuickBooks for recording financial transactions and maintaining books and records. - Conducting bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial information. - Meeting established deadlines for the completion of work assignments and projects. - Utilizing Microsoft Excel and other software tools for data analysis and reporting. - Conducting account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and month-end close activities. - Processing journal entries and maintaining the general ledger. - Ensuring the accuracy of financial data and resolving any discrepancies or issues. Experience with Lacerte software is preferred or relatable tax software experience

Requirements - Must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role or related field. - Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations is required. - Must have hands-on experience with General Ledger management and Journal Entries. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is necessary. - Experience in Month End Close procedures is required. - Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP is necessary. - Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required. - Should be able to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. - A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred. - Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and provide constructive feedback. - Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards is required.
