Sr. Accountant

Description We are seeking a skilled Sr. Accountant to join our team. Located in Charlottesville, Virginia, this role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity. As a Sr. Accountant, your primary responsibility will be to manage and analyze financial information by reviewing general ledger accounts, adjusting journal entries, and conducting account analyses. You will be tasked with ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, comprehending the standard billing cycle, and maintaining the general ledger charts of accounts.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed analysis and reconciliation of bank statements and intercompany general ledger accounts

• Oversee the upkeep of general ledger charts of accounts

• Initiate internal control evaluations

• Supervise the posting of monthly, quarterly and yearly accruals

• Guarantee the accuracy of financial statement preparation

• Apply understanding of standard billing cycle

• Manage the reconciliation of sub-ledger to general ledger account balances

• Exhibit knowledge of pre-payments and accrivals

• Oversee the process of account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation

• Use Microsoft Excel, Yardi, and other tools for month-end close procedures. Requirements - Possess advanced skills in Account Reconciliation

• Proficient in Balance Sheet Reconciliation

• Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations

• Demonstrable expertise in managing General Ledger

• Ability to prepare and analyze Journal Entries

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for financial tasks

• Experience in Month End Close procedures

• Working knowledge of Yardi software

• Experience in Financial Statement Preparation

• Proficient in managing and calculating Accruals
