    We have an exciting opportunity for a SQL Reporting Specialist to join the team with our Business Management Office.

    This is a temporary, remote opportunity not to exceed 26 weeks.

    • ?As a SQL Reporting Specialist, you will maintain a legacy Microsoft Access system with a finance-related focus (approximately 35% effort) and manage SQL data quality projects (approximately 65% effort).

    • Finance-Related Access System Maintenance (approximately 35%):

    • Ensure the stability, performance, and reliability of the existing Microsoft Access system in a finance-related context, leveraging advanced VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) skills.

    • Provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to maintain system functionality for NASA customers.

    • Perform regular backups and manage data integrity.

    • Follow and understand procedure logic within the legacy system to support ongoing maintenance and enhancements. (200 subqueries/functions many which push data to SQL)

    • SQL Data Quality Projects (approximately 65%):

    • Optimize SQL queries for performance and efficiency.

    • Develop and maintain SQL procedures to replace ad-hoc queries used in reports.

    • Create consistent and standardized SQL queries to be utilized across multiple reports.

    • Monitor and ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency through data quality checks and audits.

    • Implement data cleansing and validation processes.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address data quality issues and improve processes.

    • Perform other similar or related duties as required.

    Here's what you'll need :

    Requisition Qualifications

    • ?Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a related area and a minimum of 5 years of valuable experience in the field or in a related area.

    • Strong organization and communication skills, both written and verbal.

    • Demonstrate strength in problem solving, leading to recommended solutions, and using a team-oriented approach.

    • At least 3 years of experience with SQL, preferably in the SSMS environment.

    • At least 3 years of demonstrating advanced knowledge of VBA, preferably in Microsoft Access.

    Requisition Preferences

    • At least 1 year of experience with MS SSRS report development and maintenance.

    • At least 1 year of experience with MS Power Query development.

    • A minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute. ?

    Essential Functions

    Work Environment

    Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

    Physical Requirements

    Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

    Equipment and Machines

    Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).

    Attendance

    Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
