    Job Summary

    As the Sous Chef, you will be at the forefront of culinary excellence, assisting in the successful operation of our Culinary Department. Reporting to the Executive Chef, you'll help craft menus, supervise food preparation, and ensure the highest quality dining experience for students, athletes, and visitors. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and entrepreneurial culinary professional who thrives in a high-energy environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Cost Control: Assist the Executive Chef in leading cost controls and monitoring expenditures to align with budgetary goals.

    • Menu Development: Collaborate with the Executive Chef to plan, build, and roll out innovative menus that excite and encourage the school community.

    • Event Execution: Lead the production and execution of catering events, ensuring every detail meets outstanding quality standards.

    • Program Implementation: Collaborate with the company's marketing and culinary team to roll out new culinary programs, aligning them with the school's outstanding identity.

    • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor hourly associates, encouraging a collaborative and productive kitchen environment.

    • Coordinate daily food preparation, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and adherence to sanitation standards.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • A.S. degree or equivalent experience in culinary arts or kitchen management.

    • Progressive experience in culinary/kitchen management; catering experience is a plus.

    • High-volume, complex foodservice operations experience is highly desirable.

    • Institutional and batch cooking experience is helpful.

    Skills & Knowledge:

    • Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends, with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, and internet-based tools.

    • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.

    Certifications

    • ServSafe Certification is desired
