    Position Overview

    The Solar Repair Technician Level 2 position is responsible for assisting the Solar Repair Technician Lead with repairing and maintaining roof and ground-mounted solar systems. This person will follow all company and safety policies and procedures.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Assist in loading and unloading company vehicles
    • Install, repair, and maintain rooftop and ground-mount solar PV systems including: flashing, racking, module-level power electronics (Micro inverters/Optimizers), array wiring, and junction boxes
    • Work on roofs, ladders, crawlspaces, attics, and other residential and commercial areas
    • Accurately pull material based on the construction plans
    • Ability to fill in for Lead Installer when needed
    • Basic understanding of testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting system components
    • Basic understanding of schematics and ability to follow technical installation instructions
    • Understand how to navigate through our work platform / CRM / and other applications
    • Maintain a clean job site and work truck
    • Work in a fast-paced, demanding work environment
    • Interact with clients in a respectful manner
    • Perform other related duties as required
    • Follow all company and safety policies and procedures
    • Obtain Fall protection certification from Click Safety (1.5 HR course provided by employer)
    • Obtain Electrical Safety certification from Click Safety (0.4 HR course provided by employer)
    • Obtain OSHA 10 safety training (course provided by employer)
    • Overnight travel may be required

    Required Tools and Equipment

    • Personal hand tools required including screwdriver set or multi-tool (11 in 1) driver, wire strippers, diagonal wire cutters, impact-rated socket set, socket adapter, tool belt, bag, or backpack
    • Weather-appropriate attire with at least one piece of Purelight Power Company apparel worn at all times when on the clock
    • Weather and job-appropriate footwear

    Supplied Tools and Equipment

    • Safety harness and rope w/ rope grab and shock absorber
    • Fall protection anchors and devices
    • Power tools including impact, drill, and circular / reciprocating saw

    Requirements:

    Required skills and abilities

    • Be comfortable climbing a ladder and working on a roof
    • Be comfortable with working outside in all weather conditions
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills
    • High attention to detail
    • Strong mechanical aptitude
    • Team orientated
    • Good attitude with a willingness to learn
    • Ability to maintain a professional attitude
    • Ability to maintain company tools

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Basic understanding of hand and power tools
    • Basic understanding of common solar installation practices
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively
    • Ability to climb ladders and work on roofs up to a 45-degree pitch
    • Clean driving record and driver's license c

    Compensation details: 20-24 Hourly Wage
