Software Engineer

This individual will play a pivotal role in developing innovative and effective solutions for our DoD customers within the IC sector.

Required Qualifications:

?The Software Engineer will support the team in the following activities (including but not limited to) in support of the customer's Enterprise ServiceNow Platform:

• Maintain customer's Enterprise ServiceNow Platform infrastructure.
• Provide day-to-day O&M support to application developers and users of the ServiceNow platform
• Perform regular ServiceNow security patching and release upgrades
• Maintain and add new capabilities to the core ServiceNow platform to enhance functionality for tenants
• Perform scans/create documentation in support of Accreditation and Authorization (A&A) process
• Develop, test and deploy updates to ServiceNow based on customer requirements
• Customize and configure ServiceNow applications and facilitate rollout of new applications and modules; configure Application User Interface and configure workflow
• Collaborate effectively with ServiceNow System Engineers and developers to develop solutions and handle general updates and configuration changes/requestsIdentify system deficiencies and recommend solutionsMaintenance and continuous improvement of the processes, standards, policies, working methods and tools
• Ensure appropriate tools and processes are in place to have a development/production environment that is reliable and reproducible
• Ensure tool configuration consistency across Development, Testing, Integration, and Production environmentsParticipate in on-going production support and end user supportDocument testing and maintenance of system correctionsResearch, understand, and develop using new technologies and standards as needed
• Researches, designs, develops, and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software
• Involved in planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standardsEvaluates interface between hardware and software, operational requirements, and characteristics of overall system
• Required Education, Experience, & Skills: sixteen (16) years relevant experience with Bachelor's or Master's degrees
• Experience with deploying, updating, and managing AWS cloud infrastructure platforms such as EC2, ELB, S3, EBS RDS and KMSAbility to write, update, and deploy Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Cloudformation, CDK or TerraformExperience with AWS Lambda or other equivalent serverless technology for developing and managing scalable platforms
• Strong understanding of ServiceNow Development Platform including, ServiceNow GenAIDatabase Administration (Oracle, MYSQL, MariaDB or Postgres) experience
• Proficient in GIT for version control and collaborative software developmentStrong understanding of CI/CD methodologies
• Ability to write scripts in JavaScript, Bash, and Python for automation and software development tasksUnderstanding of TCP/IP networking protocols and principlesAbility to efficiently and appropriately estimate work effort requirementsAbility to communicate effectively through written and verbal methods
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Able to adapt to a constantly changing environmentAptitude and willingness to work with variety of newer emerging technologies/tools as opportunities demandAbility to deliver enhanced functionality, aid with new implementations, and provide continuous support within the scheduled time while preserving system integrity

• Should work toward achieving ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) cert while on task

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:

ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) or ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)

Experience with developing and maintaining enterprise container solutions such as KubernetesDatabase Administration (Oracle, MYSQL, MariaDB or Postgres) experience

AWS Cloud certification
