Softgoods Post Processing Engineer

Job Description

A leading research team focused on the development of soft goods and textiles for wearable electronics is hiring a Post-Processing Engineer for a 2-year contract through Insight Global. This team works with 3D knitting and other textile machinery, often requiring customized tools to advance their research. They are seeking an experienced CAD tooling engineer to develop customized parts and tools based on the specifications of research scientists.

Day to day

Collaborate with research engineers to create tools and parts that aid in the post-processing manufacturing of wearable technology.

Use CAD to design custom specifications, designs, and parts to solve research-based manufacturing bottlenecks, such as tools to align fabric, cut fabric, or work on a hot press or other machinery.

Operate 3D printers, CNC machinery, and other necessary lab tools.

Skills and Requirements

3-5+ years of experience with CAD tooling in NX (preferred) or AutoCAD.

Experience working with heavy machinery in a lab environment.

BS degree in industrial design, mechanical engineering, or a related field. Experience with textiles or combining soft and hard goods in a product (e.g., sportswear, wearable technology, other consumer electronics). null
