  • Argonne National Laboratory is seeking a Manager of Site Access to be responsible for the day-to-day management and implementation of Argonne's site access and unclassified HSPD-12 program. In this role you will ensure exemplary performance of Argonne's site access of all employees/users/site occupants/visitors, local credentialing and unclassified HSPD-12 programs. You will be responsible for maintaining operational awareness of site access/credentialing issues in accordance with Department of Energy order requirements. The Manager of Site Access reports directly to the Division Director of Security and Travel Services, and will be responsible for the following job responsibilities:

    • Manage departmental staff and conduct annual performance reviews.

    • Manage all administrative and operational functions of the Site Access Program.

    • Manage site access system improvements and upgrades ensuring tasks are completed on schedule.

    • Manage scheduling of Site Access Representatives, fulfill uniform/equipment requests, and oversee service contracts.

    • Provide training to Site Access Representatives on a variety of security and site access related topics.

    • Provides direction to departmental staff based on policies, workflow, and work schedules.

    • Conduct self-assessments and participate in DOE survey and program reviews.

    • Recommends modifications and implements written directives and job aides based on DOE Order and site-specific policy and procedure.

    • Develop and implement coordinated Laboratory-wide site access programs and communications to improve/enhance laboratory goals, communications and achievements within this area.

    • Assist in the coordination of VIP and Significant Events.

    • Track, trend and analyze site access related activity to be used to improve security functions.

    • Serve as a back-up to the Site Access Representatives and HSPD-12.

    Position Requirements

    Candidates must possess the following qualifications:

    • To perform the essential functions of this position successful applicants must provide proof of U.S. citizenship, which is required to comply with federal regulations and contract and obtain and maintain a "Q" level clearance.

    • Considerable oral and written communication skills are required. Must be able to communicate effectively in the presence of large groups of individuals, as well as with higher levels of Laboratory and DOE site office management.

    • Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including database, spreadsheet and word processing applications.

    • Must possess technical competency of systems, programs and applications and the ability to understand integrations between those systems

    • Demonstrated ability to gather, analyze and organize information from a variety of resources and databases.

    • Strong emphasis on time management, organizational skills, and prioritization of work load.

    • Demonstrated skills creating and presenting a variety of novel approaches to enhance interest awareness and compliance in site access operations.

    • Excellent initiative and problem resolution skills.

    • Educational requirement is Bachelor's and 6+ years of relevant experience or a Masters and 4+ years of relevant experience, preferred security related disciplines is highly desirable.
