    Apple is seeking a Silicon Photonics Test Engineer to join our dynamic team driving research and development in integrated photonic sensors. With our state-of-the-art testing infrastructure, you will design and execute test plans at component, subsystem, and system levels, utilizing your hands-on experience and deep understanding of physics to optimize testing methodologies. Working closely with cross-functional engineering teams, you will actively contribute to the development process and help shape the transition to production evaluation strategies.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Physics, Optics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent fields

    • Coding skills with object-oriented programming languages (Python, Matlab, C++, etc.)

    • Experience with experimental evaluation of photonic components and/or systems.

    Key Qualifications

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Master's/PhD degree in Physics, Optics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent fields

    • Proven track record of designing and building complex test setups for optoelectronic devices/systems

    • Deep understanding in optoelectronic devices/systems physics and evaluation

    • Experience in measuring components or packaged modules in challenging dynamic environment, including varying temperature, humidity and strain

    • Hands-on experience in characterizing passive and active on-chip optical devices, including MUX, DC, phase shifters, etc

    • Hands-on experience with various test equipment, such as tunable laser, OSA, VNA, LCR, SMU, and others

    • Analytical experience with statistical data analysis and Six Sigma methodology in a production environment

    • Experience with Wafer-Level testing and/or high-speed optoelectronics

    • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $214,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
