    JOB PURPOSE:

    • The Service Technician 1 is responsible for basic level repair and testing of equipment as assigned with a focus on mechanical and non-electronic repairs. This person will work towards advanced level repairs.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Repairs

    • Have a basic understanding of mechanical and non-electronic repairs. Have the desire to learn to become more skilled at mechanical repairs

    • Be able to perform mechanical or non-electrical repairs as needed as skills evolve.

    • Timely troubleshooting and repair of all assigned equipment.

    • Compile and analyze the repair history of assigned equipment. Take corrective action to reduce the failure rate. Report any noticeable increases in product replacement.

    • Recommend improved testing procedures.

    Administrative Duties

    • Complete the Work Order and invoicing / credits in Acumatica.

    • Review RMA and associated orders for errors. Notify Support, Service or Admin Department if corrective action is needed.

    • Maintain housekeeping and organization of work area.

    • Create/maintain accuracy of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of products assigned.

    • Maintain physical inventory of swap equipment and repair parts.

    • Assist as necessary with daily receiving of assigned equipment.

    • Monitor assigned equipment and repair part levels on the shelf to maintain zero outages.

    • Maintain an organized system of stocking equipment inventory

    Customer Relations

    • Create Return Merchandise Authorization as needed (RMAs and Work Orders).

    • Help with support issues on hardware when a problem arises.

    • Troubleshooting over the phone with our Knowledge Center to help with assigned equipment problems when needed.

    Vendor\Manufacturer Relations

    • Purchasing of parts inventory.

    • Working with Vendors on acquiring RMAs.

    • Prepare equipment for shipment to vendors.

    • Complete testing and work orders of equipment repaired and returned from the vendor.

    • Work with vendors to resolve product failure issues.

    • Performs all other duties as assigned by Management.

    • The position works under the general direction of the Service Repair Supervisor, exercising discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance in the department.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Education: Associate degree in electronics or equivalent preferred.

    • Experience: Previous repair experience desired. Warehouse and assembly experience a plus.

    • Computer Skills: Working knowledge of Word, Excel and Power Point. Experience in SalesForce and Acumatica desired. Ability to create and generate reports and track metrics.

    • Other Requirements: Team player with strong interpersonal skills. Organizational skills with attention to detail.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • While performing the duties of this job, the individual must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time. The individual needs to occasionally move about inside the office. They constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery. They must be able to exchange accurate information with customers and coworkers.

    • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close distance for detailed board level work.
