    What you will do

    As a valued member of the Driver and Vehicle Productivity Testing Team (D&VP), you will have the opportunity to work cross functionally within Group Truck Technology (GTT) to support the development and verification of new products. In this role, you will be expected to define, verify and validate Vehicle Dynamic performance of our products according to the defined project features and requirements through methods such as physical testing/data collection and data analysis with a focus on Vehicle Handling. Data will be collected by leading the planning and execution of testing using various resources such as On-Road, Closed Track, or other methods. This role will also have the opportunity to work closely with testing associated with Braking, Steering/Ride, and ADAS.

    Responsibilities

    • Define test methods in accordance with the requirements

    • Work effectively with key stakeholders to plan, manage, prepare and execute testing

    • Analyze results and give recommendations in respective technology areas

    • Prepare and manage fault reports from tests

    • Document results through published engineering reports (ER)

    • Identify, drive and maintain efficiency gains related to Vehicle Dynamics test and analysis methods

    • Responsibility to define long term investment roadmap within Vehicle Dynamics area

    • Participate with global and local Vehicle Dynamics Team Networks to support global collaboration and method development

    • Ability to travel offsite for testing execution, as required

    This position will report to the Driver and Vehicle Productivity group manager.

This position is situated within the Driving Performance area within D&VP with the focus aimed towards Fuel Consumption and Aerodynamic product performance to support product development and product certification activities.

    Requirements

    - Minimum Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Master preferred

    - 5-8 years of related experience in the automotive industry, Heavy Duty truck preferred

    - Strong understanding of Vehicle Dynamic principles and test methodologies

    - Fully proficient in the use of data acquisition equipment

    - Fully proficient in data analysis tools and techniques.

    - Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    - Proficiency in working with MS Office Applications for engineering reports and presentations

    - Proficiency in Python or similar program desired

    - CDL holder or desire to attain CDL required.
