    Senior Systems Engineer - Optronics (Onsite)

    At Collins Aerospace Optronics, we develop and build unique optical systems for space, simulator, airborne and body-worn environments. At Optronics, you will have the opportunity to work with a multi-discipline Engineering team on the design, analysis, development, and testing of complex optical and visual display systems. The candidate will contribute to a culture of trust, respect, integrity, excellence, and innovation. The candidate is expected to maintain a customer focus that builds and strengthens those relationships.

    What You Will Do

    • Work amongst our team to perform systems tasks including design, requirements capture, development, documentation, integration and test

    • Demonstrate thorough communication with the team and across other teams

    • Learn from and support experienced engineers with various tasks including but not limited to (hardware development, integration of a system troubleshooting, running and facilitating testing, producing reports and updating documentation)

    • Interact with customer focals as necessary.

    Qualifications You Must Have

    • Bachelor's degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience OR In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required

    • Must be a U.S. Citizen

    • Experience in systems design including requirements capture/analysis, system design, systems integration/test, including hardware/software

    • Experience with visual display technologies or high precision optical assemblies for military and/or commercial entities

    • Understanding of augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) technologies

    • Strong conceptual, planning, and problem-solving skills

    • Strong communication skills and good teamwork

    Qualifications We Prefer

    • Experience in head worn display and tracking systems

    • Possess communication, documentation, and collaboration / teamwork skills.

    • Experience interfacing directly with both internal and external customers including presentations and issue resolution.

    • Experience with simulators and training systems for military and/or commercial entities

    • Human factors engineering experience

    The salary range for this role is 85,000 USD - 179,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
