Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager – Capital Project Delivery to help grow our practice, based out of our Houston or Austin, TX offices. The Senior Project Manager for Development Projects is responsible for the overall management of supporting large scale capital project development for our industrial clients in energy transition, water, advanced manufacturing, chemicals, and clean technology markets. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for supporting these projects from conceptual through execution phases. The Senior Project Manager will closely engage with multiple clients, Geosyntec technical teams, and execution resources to support the development of assigned projects to create, facilitate and manage consistent and coherent project delivery outcomes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assemble project teams, assign individual responsibilities, monitor budgets against plans and procure necessary resources.
Champion quality and demonstrate leadership by personal high standards for work process and products and exemplary service to clients.
Manage all work on assigned projects to meet contract requirements, appropriate codes and regulations, regulatory compliance and/or enforcement requirements, and industry standard-of-care criteria.
Regularly (at least monthly) use company financial tools to monitor and meet project/department productivity, budget, WIP, and A/R metrics to meet or exceed company profitability minimum goal.
Ensure that staff resource assignments align with project requirements concerning roles, skills, and quantity
Act as a line manager and contribute to the appropriate action/practice group and practice development of junior staff.
Conduct annual performance evaluations for direct reports. Provide frequent informal feedback to subordinates about performance. Coach and counsel employees to achieve performance excellence in all areas of responsibility.
Actively support and participate in the company health and safety program by enforcing health and safety standards, regulations and procedures.
Comply with client safety practices. Educate employees on health and safety practices and raise awareness via example and mentoring.
Ensure Geosyntec and client diversity goals and initiatives are achieved.
Adhere to the Geosyntec Quality Management Plan policies and procedures.
Promote Geosyntec corporate culture of technical excellence, high quality deliverables, outstanding client service, and exceptional teamwork.
Education and Licensure:
Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil/chemical/environmental) or environmental science degree from an accredited program. (required)
Advanced degree in engineering (civil/chemical/environmental) or environmental science degree from an accredited program. (preferred)
Project management professional (PMP) certification. (preferred)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
At least 8 years of progressive professional experience in engineering, consulting, project or program management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
Experience in project management is essential, encompassing aspects such as planning, design team coordination and communication, budgeting, schedule management, and client coordination.
Experience in resource management is essential, with the ability to mentor staff at all levels in the following areas: technical competence; project, risk and quality management; process improvement; pleasing clients and client satisfaction; building client relationships and obtaining new work; professionalism and ethics; and compliance with the firm’s policies and standards.
Experience with project and task management for capital projects >$100M.
Candidates should have experience in client and business development.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent facilitation, collaboration, organizational, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to influence, lead, and manage thoughtfully and positively.
Experience in proposal development is necessary.
Strong planning and analytical skills are a must, alongside exceptional oral and written communication abilities to effectively present complex information to employees at all levels, as well as management and clients.
Candidates should also exhibit strong interpersonal skills and expert knowledge of project management methodologies and tools, including proficiency in Microsoft Project or its equivalent.

Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
