Job Title: Payroll Specialist
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Specialist to manage bi-weekly payroll for both hourly and salaried employees. This role involves entering invoices daily, addressing payroll queries, processing records of employment, and handling third-party payments. You will also be responsible for updating employee records in Kronos and managing various payroll-related tasks.
Responsibilities
Manage bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
Enter invoices on a daily basis.
Address payroll queries related to hourly, salaried, and Owner Operator Payroll.
Process bi-weekly records of employment for employees and update their records in Kronos.
Handle Service Canada interactions.
Manage third-party payments such as garnishments and union dues on a bi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
Update Kronos for new hires.
Perform filing duties.
Essential Skills
Experience in full-cycle payroll processing.
Proficiency in handling payroll for both salaried and hourly employees.
Strong skills in reconciliations and deductions.
Experience with Records of Employment (ROE).
Advanced proficiency in Excel.
Post-secondary education in finance or accounting.
Experience with payroll tax, analysis, and data entry.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with unionized payroll.
PCP certification.
Experience with multi-provincial payroll.
Bilingual abilities.
Work Environment
This position offers a hybrid working model with the flexibility to work two days a week in the office. The standard working hours are 9am to 5pm, with the possibility of overtime. The dress code is business casual. There is potential for the role to be extended or converted to a longer-term position. The team size is 4-5 members, and you will report to the Payroll Manager.
