    Job Description

    AECOM is seeking a motivated and skilled Senior Mechanical Designer/Engineer and Deputy Team Manager to support the design and construction of buildings within the Buildings + Places business line. This opportunity could be based out of either our Markham, Mississauga or Pickering offices,with opportunities for hybrid work available.

    This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior-level Mechanical Engineer with buildings experience to grow into a leadership position.

    AECOM Buildings + Places Canada (B+P Canada) is a vibrant and growing fully integrated team spanning architecture, all the building's engineering disciplines, landscape architecture, urban planning, urban design, economics and asset management for design and infrastructure projects.

    Major Responsibilities:

    • Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team

    • Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.

    • Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.

    • Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.

    • Develops estimates of technical efforts for projects.

    • Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of contract documents package.

    • Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.

    • Prepares technical specification sections.

    • Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.

    • Assists mechanical engineering team manager with mentoring junior and intermediate engineering staff.

    • Assists team manager with prioritizing workload and projects for CADD and Revit production technicians and technologists.

    • Liases with other discipline leads to meet client performance objectives in an optimized and value added manner.

    • A motivated and experienced engineer looking to grow into a dynamic and effective people manager.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess no less than:

    • University Degree in Mechanical Engineering plus 6 (six) years of experience designing HVAC and plumbing for commercial, institutional, and light industrial facilities.

    Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered.

    • Professional Engineering license is required.

    Preferred Requirements:

    • Prefer an individual with 10 (ten)+ years of experience designing HVAC and plumbing for commercial, institutional, and light industrial facilities.

    • PWGSC/PSPC - Level II Secret Clearance preferred for Federal Projects.

    Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $105,000.00 - $140,000.00.
