Senior Materials Handler

We have an outstanding Contract position for aSenior Materials Handlerto join a leading Company located in theLaurel, MDsurrounding area.

US Citizenship is required.

Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Pay Range : $18 - $22

To support the relocation of staff and laboratory equipment, arrange conference rooms, and pick up and deliver furniture and equipment throughout the Laboratory.

Responsibilities :

• Supports the relocation of Laboratory personnel and equipment using dollies, hand trucks, desk jacks, vans, forklifts, and high cube truck vehicles

• Moves office furniture, laboratory equipment, safes, and packages of all types

• Operates Laboratory vehicles and equipment such as vans, box trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, manual and power tools

• Inspects and maintains equipment and vehicles to be in good safe operating condition

• Assists in other areas of the FMT group as necessary

Basic Hiring Criteria :

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Minimum 2 years of commercial move and/or hands-on material handling experience

• Minimum 1 year of forklift experience and ability to obtain a forklift certification

• Possess a valid driver's license with no points

• The selected candidate will be subject to a Motor Vehicle Record Review

• Ability to obtain or possess a valid DOT medical card

• Safety shoes required

Desired Qualifications :

• Basic computer skills to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

• Ability to lift up to 70lbs and walk extensively

• Ability to work independently and within a team environment

• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

• Ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment based on customers' needs

• Maintain good attendance and punctuality

• Experience using both hand tools and power tools (especially cordless drills)

• Experience handling Hazardous Materials
