What you'll do...
As a Senior Manager of Customer Insights & Strategy at Walmart, you will sit at the heart of what it means to be customer obsessed, and therefore the heart of everything we do. Advocating for our customer is the foundation of growing the business, and we're looking for a talented person to drive the implementation and strategies that will make Walmart a trusted and loved retailer.
As part of the Merchandising Insights Team, you will leverage customer insights to inform and shape Walmart Merchant business strategies.
Our agile team is tasked to ensure that relevant and actionable insights are identified for both long-term and key short-term priorities.
Customer insights are brought to life through the thoughtful integration and persuasive storytelling of multiple sources including primary research, secondary research, internal analytics, and syndicated panel/POS data.
Successful Merchandising Insights team members are expected to build and maintain relationships with leaders across multiple functions of the organization such as Merchandising, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Product Teams.
Polished communication skills with ability to clearly convey complex data and information across a broad landscape of clientele
Passionate about not just sharing data but telling a story through meaningful insights
Leverages a variety of data sources to reconcile the insights as well as deliver actionable recommendations
Communicates insights across multiple business topics/initiatives effectively
Consultative experience and thought leadership skills to see the big picture without sacrificing attention to details
Leads solution development and delivery of complex and/or large consulting projects that support multiple business areas or categories
Adopts a holistic perspective that considers data, analytics, customer insights, and different parts of the business when making plans and implementing strategies
Provides consultative opinions (i.e., a point of view) and expertise to senior and executive leadership based on review and oversight of research and analysis findings
Ability to develop and foster collaborative business relationships
Passionate and driven collaborator and teammate
Partners with functional leadership and other cross-functional leaders across the organization (e.g., Customer Experience, Merchandising) to develop solutions for complex and/or large projects, ensure buy-in for recommendations as necessary and ensure alignment on data analysis and research strategies
Provides consulting expertise and acts as a subject matter expert to senior leadership (e.g., SVPs & EVPs)
Proactively maintains existing relationships and develops new relationships with external business partners and vendors
Strong understanding of when and how to leverage primary and secondary research and retail analytics to address business opportunities
Able to develop learning plans with clear objectives and appropriate methods and techniques to address key business questions
Leverages retail industry experience, particularly in strategy, operations, and customer experience
Exhibits excellent organization skills, and ability to lead multiple projects/ responsibilities
Ensures quality and standard of work output through effective project management of third-party vendors

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field and 4 years' experience in marketing research, data analytics, consulting, or related field OR 6 years' experience in marketing research, data analytics, consulting, or related field.
4 to 6 years shopper insights, customer insights, or consulting related fields
Experience working cross-functionally, managing initiatives at scale and delivering results
Preferred Qualifications:
8+ years shopper insights, customer insights, or consulting related fields
Experience working with general merchandise categories
Experience with private brand development, repositioning and/or portfolio optimization research and consulting

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00
