    The Senior Manager, Human Resources will report into the HR Director for Canada and be located in the Vancouver, BC, office. This position provides leadership for the office and is primarily engaged in management activities that establish the direction of a department, function, or project for the office. The position requires the application of HR knowledge gained from experience and expertise to the job duties and responsibilities. The position will make decisions in areas that may impact the organization and its employees, clients, budgets, policies, procedures, work practices, and compliance programs.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Lead, inspire and motivate a team in partnership with the Canada HR Operations team and Mining & Metals HR Business Parter to provide effective HR solutions.

    • Lead, direct and communicate, collaboratively within the context of a globally diverse environment with HR management leadership and the general HR team to influence, develop, implement, programs and services ,including one or several of these areas: HR business partner relationships; policies & procedures; recruitment & retention; compensation; performance management; employee relations; employment litigation; regulatory compliance & reporting; employee & organizational development; workforce & succession planning; employee communications

    • Effectively implement and execute HR initiatives (salary planning, performance appraisals, ethics disclosures) to align with business strategy

    • Foster the advancement of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion through leadership in various groups including participation in the Canadian Inclusion Council

    • Effectively interface with all levels of the organization to coordinate and oversee all the people-related and office management activities.

    • Maintain close working relationship with operational management acting as a counselor and partner in all HR areas to ensure monitor and confirm that human resources services are being properly executed and that the needs of the company are being met.

    • Facilitate HR strategic goals across teams to support the business.

    • Develop and manage workforce planning strategies.

    • Provide leadership in organizational development, design and capability including change implementation with a focus on: leadership, employee, and team engagement and development.

    • Comprehends and uses data metrics and analysis to develop strategic planning for HR related actions.

    • Approve, delegate, or coordinate the completion of HR administrative documents.

    • Identify strategic office needs and create, coordinate, and monitor programs and initiatives.

    • Support office leadership with talent development initiatives to align with office and business line strategies.

    • Provide facilitation support to the functions when required.

    • Provide leadership in progressing office through the talent cycle.

    • Other duties as assigned.
