Job Overview
Jensen Hughes is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer in our Las Vegas, NV, Phoenix, AZ, or Colorado Springs, CO office locations. This strategic growth position calls for an experienced candidate who can work directly with clients and perform their own technical work ("Seller Doer"). Remote and hybrid work options are available for experienced fire protection engineers with client connections and business development capabilities.
We are looking for highly motivated, experienced individuals to add to our growing team. The successful applicant will have a well-rounded background in building code and fire code consulting and possess strong analytical and creative thinking skills. The position will coordinate and conduct building plan reviews, interpret the building/fire codes, develop alternative solutions, prepare building design reports, and coordinate with fire protection engineering design teams.
Responsibilities
Manage and implement a wide variety of consulting projects.
Satisfy client needs and expectations by completing assigned tasks on schedule and within budget.
Coordinate and conduct building and fire code reviews and analyses, including plan reviews and site visits.
Prepare and peer review of project-related technical reports.
Develop fire protection strategies, performance-based design approaches, and alternative solutions to resolve client design issues.
Effectively communicate with project team members, clients, and others.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering (preferably Fire Protection), Architecture, or related field.
12+ years of experience in Building Code and Fire Protection Consulting.
Registered Professional Engineer (PE), preferably in Fire Protection Engineering or other professional designation in Fire Protection, is highly desirable (such as NICET Level IV in any of the Fire Protection certifications).
The ideal candidate will be a "Doer Seller," with client connections and ability to develop new business.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with developing building code concepts and equivalencies, conducting building plan reviews, and conducting field reviews/inspections.
Experience with project management or specific responsibilities for any portion of large complex projects is preferred.
Ability to present clear and technically sound fire protection engineering strategies.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, enjoy professional challenges, and endeavor to be an integral part of the long-term growth of Jensen Hughes.

National Pay Range
$127,000-$197,000USD
