Senior Financial Analyst, Merchandising Control

Job Description

The Senior Financial Analyst, Merchandising Control, is part of the Merchandise Accounting organization. This position plays an active role in the preparation and/or review of companywide processes related to the valuation and accuracy of inventory, including risk assessments and process improvements. Key responsibilities include:

• Manage Overhead processes for the Merchandising and Content departments including preparing journal entries and reconciliations, budgeting and forecasting, and annual planning procedures.

• Prepare ad hoc analyses on complex Vendor Funding initiatives.

• Collaborate with the Merchandising organization on inventory, sales, and gross profit.

• Prepare and analyze Company Key Reserves for Merchandising.

• Manage one direct report: Financial Analyst or Associate Financial Analyst

• Accommodate internal and external audit requests.

• Other key responsibilities as identified

Education and/or Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, with a minimum of 3-5 years related experience

• MBA and CPA preferred

• Strong research, analytical and problem solving skills

• Advanced excel as well as experience with SQL

• Strong procedure development and implementation skills, and demonstrated process improvement ability

• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

• Ability to generate bold, creative ideas to improve processes and performance

• Excellent Communication and Organizational skills

• Ability to succeed in a team environment
