  • Eaton's IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst - Manufacturing. This role is based out of our Los Angeles, CA facility. With 250 employees, the Los Angeles facility designs and manufactures quality valves, regulators, and other fluid controls used mostly by the Aerospace Industry. The Senior Financial Analyst - Manufacturing is considered a key member of the plant finance team and is responsible for managing the finance activities which drive the financial performance of the Eaton Los Angeles plant.

    The expected annual salary range for this role is $92287.53 - $135355.04 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

    What you'll do:

    This role will be instrumental in maintaining cost accounting measures for the plant to capture, report and resolve manufacturing variances, and will be responsible for working with cross-functional teams to drive improvements into the manufacturing environment. Areas of focus for this role include maintaining processes to review BOMs and routers, setting and maintaining standard costing, supporting the plant annual physical inventory, assisting in financial audits, maintain appropriate balance sheet reserves for E&O, warranty, LCM, supporting the forecast process, managing functional budgets across the site, and analyzing utilization and productivity metrics. This role will have a wide exposure to the business and is an excellent position for someone looking to develop a long-term career within Finance or Operations.

    In this role you will

    • Reviews manufacturing variances on a daily basis

    • Develops and implements key metrics to achieve desired behaviors from business partners

    • Reviews utilization and productivity metrics for opportunities to improve the labor reporting process

    • Drives improvements into the plant cost environment through analysis and correction of manufacturing variances

    • Provides monthly analysis and detail of key drivers for manufacturing variance to forecast

    • Performs month end close functions including journal entries and reconciliations as necessary

    • Reviews BOMs and routings

    • Serves as the finance liaison for everything related to inventory

    • Sets and maintains standard costing according to Eaton Financial policies

    • Supports the plant annual physical inventory

    • Owns and monitors key compliance reporting and controls

    • Supports Accounting Manager and Controller with ad hoc analysis and projects

    • Maintains standard work and documents systems, processes and procedures used in cost accounting

    • Assist in annual profit plan preparation

    Qualifications:

    Basic (Required) Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business from an accredited institution.

    • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in finance and accounting in a manufacturing environment.

    • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.

    • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate geographical area (50 miles 90039) will be considered for this position. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

    • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).     Preferred Qualifications:

    • Understanding of GAAP accounting

    • Understanding of cost accounting principles and manufacturing operations

    • Strong proficiency with MS Office, to include Excel (pivot tables, v lookups)

    • Experience in a large manufacturing organization

    • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in manufacturing financial analysis

    • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems

    • CPA/CMA/MBA

    • Proven cross functional engagement or experience.

    • SAP experience
