    Collins Aerospace is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer, Program Quality. You will be responsible for leading and directing engineering projects, ensuring the successful development and implementation of innovative aerospace technologies. You will be crucial in driving the company's mission and contribute to the success of our cutting-edge projects. You will also be responsible for coaching, reviewing, and delegating work to lower-level professionals. This role will create and/or edits policies, practices, and procedures.

    Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader. Eligible for relocation

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Expected to manage various projects or processes. Typically viewed as subject-matter expert within discipline. Has advanced to expert knowledge of work scope.

    • Problems faced are difficult and often complex. Works autonomously, Minimal oversight from manager.

    • Required to support Business Reviews, CAB's, and other Management Meetings. Requires communication with Collins and Customer executives in the business.

    • Has in-depth understanding of customer needs and applies voice of customer and customer policies over a broad range of business-related topics. Subject matter expert able to work autonomously to ensure customer support & satisfaction with minimal oversite from manager. Is proactive in anticipating customer needs.

    • Provides guidance and reviews work of lower-level professionals.

    • Understands and applies CMS concepts to ensure IPT alignment, autonomously. Actively contributes to each gate review as applicable to the role based on NPI projects assigned.

    • Performs contract and design reviews with minimal oversight from manager and has in-depth knowledge of contractual requirements.

    • Assist with quotes/proposals efforts, with minimal oversight from manager. Provide metrics data to ensure team is accounting for cost based on historical quality levels.

    • Performs required MRB tasks with minimal oversight from manager, as dictated by customer requirements. Coach lower-level employees, as needed.

    • Provide feedback to engineering on whether a certain disposition would be acceptable to the customer and submit any required documentation to the customer for approval when the request in the MRB violates a customer requirement.

    • Conduct ECN Review with minimal oversight form manager, as required by the customer. Provide approval and flow the appropriate information to the customer, as applicable. Coach lower-level professionals on ECN review, approval, and procedures.

    • Drives high-level risk mitigation activities through cross-functional team collaboration (PFMEA, ZDP, APQP, RCCA) with minimal oversight from manager. Provide expertise in these areas to others, as needed. Influence cross-functional team members on appropriate risk mitigation actions based on customer input and expertise in the various risk mitigation tools.

    • Manages customer escapes via data gathering, active participation in RCCA with cross-functional team, as applicable, and present during customer meetings, with minimal oversight. Prepare emerging issue/confirmed escape slides for communication to senior leadership. Present information in Business Reviews, CAB's, and other Management Meetings, as required.

    • Ensure timely change of charge submission for invalid customer rejections, with minimal oversight from manager. Maintain scorecard tracker. Drive scorecard improvements through risk mitigation efforts to minimize the number of escapes. Focuses on risk mitigation efforts that benefit multiple customers.

    • Lead customer audits, as the primary contact focal, with minimal support and supervision from management. Lead and coordinate audit preparation efforts, delegating some tasks to lower-level professionals. Coordinate audit schedule with appropriate auditees and ensure that the proper group and site support is prepared. Coach auditees and lower-level professionals in preparation for the audit.

    • Participate as a mentee with a more experienced individual within the organization. Serve as a potential mentor for Interns, QLEADs, or lower-level professionals.

    • Occasional domestic travel required.

    • Perform any additional duties required.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.

    • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

    • 5+ years direct customer interface experience

    • 5+ years quality engineering experience

    • 2+ years of experience understanding of design and machining / manufacturing methods with the ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D drawing.

    • 2+years of project management experience.

    • Experience utilizing ERP/MRP software (for example SAP, NetSuite, Acumatica, Epicor etc.).

    • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office- Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • CORE - Champion and Professional operating systems experience

    • Aerospace OE program experience

    • New product development and introduction experience

    • Product life cycle management experience.

    • Six Sigma Black Belt

    • ASQ CQE certification

    • Experience implementing, maintaining and/or improved APQP or PPAP.

    The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
