At Collins Aerospace, in our Computing Products department, we are seeking a dedicated Hardware Engineer to join our team in Cedar Rapids, IA. This role offers the unique opportunity to support the Airbus A350 Information Management Onboard and its modules, a crucial component for the aircraft's onboard information system and onboard maintenance system.     What YOU will do

    • You will provide comprehensive development and sustainment engineering activities for the Airbus A350 A350 Information Management Onboard system and the equipment it is comprised of.

    • You will develop expertise in supporting our products post-certification, focusing on the production side of the business and hands-on troubleshooting of field-removed units.

    • You will collaborate with a multi-discipline team to provide top-level support for our products, enhancing system understanding and troubleshooting capabilities.

    • You will engage in root cause analysis of product returns from the field, obsolescence resolution activities, and oversight of complex printed circuit board layouts.

    • You will prepare and present detailed project technical information to both peers and internal/external customers, ensuring all designs comply with aerospace standards such as DO-160 and DO-254.

    • You will acquire hands-on experience in the aerospace sector, particularly in hardware design and support for critical avionics systems.

    • You will enhance your skills in project management and technical documentation, preparing you for advanced roles within the industry.

    • You will develop a deep understanding of the product lifecycle from design to service support, gaining insights into cost, manufacturability, and testability optimization.

    Qualifications You Must Have

    • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience

    Qualifications We Prefer

    • Experience interfacing with manufacturing personnel and processes.

    • Proficiency in a lab environment, performing hands-on troubleshooting with complex engineering equipment.

    • Experience as a technical lead and/or project lead of a team in the design, test, analysis, integration, qualification, and documentation of hardware of high complexity.

    Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

    The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
