    About the Role:

    We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Director of Shelter Programs to oversee and manage our shelter programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our shelter programs, which provide critical support to individuals and families in need. They will be expected to lead a team of dedicated professionals, develop and implement program policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. The Senior Director of Shelter Programs will play a key role in shaping the future of our organization and making a positive impact on the lives of those we serve.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in social work, public administration, or a related field.
    • At least 7 years of experience in program management, preferably in a shelter or housing-related field.
    • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing teams, with a strong focus on staff development and mentorship.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in social work, public administration, or a related field.
    • Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals experiencing homelessness, mental illness, and/or substance use disorders.
    • Experience with grant writing and fundraising.
    • Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to shelter and housing programs.
    • Bilingual.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement program policies and procedures to ensure the effective and efficient operation of our shelter programs.
    • Lead and manage a team of dedicated professionals, providing guidance, support, and mentorship as needed.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including those related to health and safety, program quality, and client confidentiality.
    • Collaborate with other departments and community partners to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to our clients.
    • Monitor program outcomes and make data-driven decisions to continuously improve program effectiveness and efficiency.

    Skills:

    The Senior Director of Shelter Programs will utilize their strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to effectively manage and oversee our shelter programs. They will need to be able to analyze data and make data-driven decisions to continuously improve program outcomes. Additionally, they will need to have excellent interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with other departments and community partners. The successful candidate will also need to have a strong understanding of local, state, and federal regulations related to shelter and housing programs, and be able to ensure compliance with these regulations. Finally, bilingual skills in English and Spanish would be beneficial in this role, as we serve a diverse population.
