    I. Job Summary

    We are seeking an experienced Director of Energy Infrastructure Projects to lead an organization responsible for planning, managing and constructing a large portfolio of Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) across the United States and Canada.

    This key leadership role will lead an engineering and construction project management group as well as WMRE's program management office (PMO), S/He will be responsible for planning and executing all phases of each capital project (engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning) to ensure the successful delivery of WM's strategic initiative in the energy markets.

    II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Asset Portfolio Leadership:

    • Direct the overall strategy and build-out of WM's RNG facility portfolio

    • Establish and maintain portfolio-wide standards, processes, and best practices

    • Implement risk management strategies to mitigate project and program risks

    • Asset Project Oversight:

    • Oversee the planning, design, and construction of RNG facilities across multiple locations

    • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards

    • Review and approve project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations

    • Team Management:

    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of project managers

    • Oversee all engineering management, quality assurance, and change management aspects at the project and portfolio level.

    • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement

    • Manage resource allocation across the portfolio to optimize team performance

    • Program Management Office (PMO):

    • Oversee the PMO to drive consistency and efficiency across projects

    • Ensure compliance of project governance and management processes and tools

    • Ensure effective knowledge management and lessons learned across the portfolio

    • Stakeholder Management:

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for executive leadership on portfolio progress and performance

    • Collaborate with internal departments (Finance, Legal, Operations) and external partners (contractors, vendors, regulatory bodies)

    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at all levels

    • Financial Management:

    • Oversee the portfolio budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and optimized resource allocation

    • Implement robust financial controls and reporting mechanisms

    • Identify and pursue opportunities for cost savings and value engineering across the portfolio

    • Quality and Safety:

    • Champion a culture of safety and quality across all project sites

    • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and company policies

    • Implement and oversee quality assurance and control processes

    • Innovation and Sustainability:

    • Drive the adoption of innovative technologies and sustainable practices in RNG facility design and construction

    • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in renewable energy project delivery

    III. Qualifications

    The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; Master's degree preferred

    • 20+ years of experience in mid to large-scale industrial capital projects (preferably in Energy) with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role

    • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex, multi-site project portfolios valued at $1 billion or more

    • Deep understanding of energy projects, particularly in the RNG sector

    • Strong knowledge of project and program management methodologies (CII, PMI, AACE)

    • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

    • Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams in a matrix organization

    • Experience with implementing and managing PMOs

    • Proficiency in project management information software and financial modeling tools
