Microsoft's Business Planning organization directs our commercial portfolio's pricing, packaging, licensing, channel, and monetization strategies. Few organizations exist that have such a direct impact on how Microsoft goes to market, which reverberates across the entire industry. Within Business Planning, the New Commerce and Commercial Strategy organization works across Azure, Microsoft365 (M365), Dynamics 365, and Security driving cross-cloud monetization strategies for how and where customers buy. This includes defining the strategy for Microsoft's commerce experiences, channel business models, product licensing and use rights, and support as well as driving growth through audience specific offers and experiences.
As a Senior Business Planner on the Commerce Business Strategy Team, you will have the high-visibility opportunity to work with a team chartered with leading strategic initiatives that further enable our broader business needs and increased competitiveness. You will partner closely with the Engineering teams that develop the core foundation of our customer purchasing experiences, provide thought leadership to stakeholders across Business Planning on balancing business impact with time to market, and lead conversations with Executives to drive alignment and decision-making. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to influence the acceleration of Microsoft's licensing and go-to-market transformation with a massive impact across the company.

Responsibilities
Develop business capabilities to enact strategy; turn business problems into thoughtful business requirements and oversee execution/development.
Build business cases to influence investment decisions, strategic deals, product, and marketing decisions.
Drive cross-functional alignment and gain buy-in to solidify a business vision, aligning priorities and translating the strategy into business requirements.
Create and deliver materials, synthesize details into an effective story and present to partners at all levels of the organization.
Identify and develop opportunities to unlock further revenue, drive customer satisfaction, define risks, and create controls.
Build concise and impactful written presentations and targeted communications as required to drive new strategies and resolve underlying issues.
Help develop and govern a long-term roadmap leading to the transformation of Microsoft's Commerce platform.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
5+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience
OR equivalent experience.
1+ year experience with SaaS Commercial Programs or Cloud Infrastructure.
1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing technical writing.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
8+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience AND Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Computer Science, Economics, Business, or related field
OR 6+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience AND Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), or related field
OR equivalent experience.
1+ year(s) of experience working with Commerce or related systems a plus.
Ability to effectively work across diverse stakeholders to define and execute initiatives with passion, precision and excellence.
Experience engaging with engineering stakeholders to gain credibility and partnership quickly.
Curiosity and ability to ramp up on new technologies and products quickly.
Storytelling skills, executive presence and ability to influence at senior levels.
Ability to align a disparate set of teams on a common strategy, goals, and set of objectives.
Business Planning IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $103,800 - $200,300 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $133,700 - $219,200 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
