    The Position:

    We are looking for an experienced accounting professional to join our team as a Senior Auditor. This role offers specialized training in business taxation, particularly in state-specific tax laws and their practical applications in business personal property. You will have the opportunity to travel, work remotely, and collaborate with businesses across diverse industries, gaining valuable experience. At TMA, you will play a crucial role for state and local governments, completing work that can make a substantial difference in communities.

    Location Requirements:

    This is a remote position, but candidates must be located in or near the Reno, Nevada area to facilitate occasional travel and site visits.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct comprehensive cost reconciliations on business personal property tax listings for complex properties filed with various state and local tax departments.
    • Perform audits on businesses across numerous jurisdictions in the United States.
    • Collaborate with corporate accounting staff, CPA firms, and tax representatives to obtain essential financial records.
    • Conduct site visits at taxpayer locations.
    • Work closely with local assessors' offices to determine audit requirements and review results.
    • Collaborate with and support team members to ensure project success.
    • Frequent interactions with taxpayers and government clients.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
    • Minimum of 4 years of work experience in accounting; prior audit experience is not required.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, with a deep knowledge of Excel.
    • Excellent communication and public relations skills.
    • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Flexibility regarding travel. Approximately 15%-20% local travel, 10%-15% overnight travel required.
    • Property tax experience is a plus but not required; we will provide training.

    Compensation:

    • Salary range: $58,000 - $63,000 per year.
    • Quarterly incentives.
