    Please review the following job description:

    Apply a solid understanding of tax concepts and use knowledge of the business and key processes gained from practical experience in the preparation of tax analysis, including tax provisions, federal and state tax returns, research, memoranda and other various planning and compliance projects.

    Gather relevant accounting and financial data, apply requisite tax laws/regulations and input results into supporting work papers and tax applications.

    Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

    Prepare federal and state income and franchise tax returns and related work papers, as well as other necessary tax filings, including estimated payments, extensions, etc.

    Prepare and maintain accounting for income tax records necessary for proper Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) financial statement presentation.

    Perform research, interpret tax laws and other authoritative guidance and concisely communicate analysis to other tax professionals through emails, formal memoranda, etc.

    Actively participate in projects within the Department, including planning and execution activities.

    Prepare responses to inquiries from taxing authorities.

    Revise and maintain departmental procedures.

    Proactively identify issues and escalate them accordingly.

    Work under moderate supervision while demonstrating strong self-review skills.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of Big 4 or large corporate tax experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Prior tax return preparation and work paper presentation experience, including cross referencing and documentation.

    • Solid understanding of principles, practices, theories, and/or methodologies associated with the tax discipline including knowledge of tax return software.

    • Ability to manage competing priorities.

    • Strong computer skills in Excel and other Microsoft products.

    • Able to read and interpret financial statements.

    • Ability to solve problems in straightforward situations by analyzing possible solutions using experience, judgment and precedents.

    • Ability to use discretion and to communicate complex information, in both written and verbal forms, in straightforward situations.

    • Attention to detail, with an emphasis on accuracy and consistency.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • CPA Master's degree or MBA and 4 years of Big 4 or large corporate tax experience.

    • Previous experience in the banking industry.

    • Previous experience reviewing work products prepared by others.

    • Previous experience with OneSource Income Tax and OneSource Tax Provision.
