    Job Description

    AECOM is seeking a Senior Architecture Design Manager - Aviation to join our team on a large aviation infrastructure projects. This position is based out of Mississauga.

    Job Summary:

    • Directs and coordinates the application of multi-disciplinary design standards, collaborating closely with the main contractor.

    • Oversees pre-construction services, including planning, design phases, site development, permitting, and procurement support.

    • Acts as the primary point of contact for clients at various levels throughout all phases, offering technical guidance and expertise in design development.

    • Manages design consultancy agreements to ensure they meet technical specifications, schedules, and budgetary constraints.

    • Facilitates design reviews and integrates feedback from stakeholders effectively and efficiently.

    • Coordinates reviews with external groups such as airlines, agencies, and regulatory authorities.

    • Delivers progress and performance reports to Management and Executives, emphasizing key risks and opportunities.

    • Oversees client design reviews and approvals at all phases and ensures a smooth transition from Development to Construction.

    • Provides technical support to delivery teams, leveraging design phase knowledge to address client facility requirements and enhance construction delivery.

    • Conducts quality reviews to ensure compliance with scope and program requirements.

    • Provides coaching, mentoring, and support for the professional growth of staff.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    In order to be considered for this position, candidates must meet the below requirement, at a very minimum:

    • University Degree from a recognized university in a relevant field of study such as Engineering or Architecture + eight (8) years of professional experience in large capital programs in an engineering / design management position, including experience in aviation.

    Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered.

    Preferred Requirements:

    • Relevant professional designation is considered an asset.

    • Prefer ten (10) years of professional experience in large capital programs in an engineering / design management position, with a focus on airport terminals, including renovation / improvement programs.

    • Demonstrable experience in performing design reviews and facilitating design coordination activities.

    • Good working knowledge of program development including scope finalization, cost estimating, scheduling, and risk assessments.

    • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills including the ability to facilitate meeting / workshops with large groups of stakeholders.

    • Strong technical capability in all project phases and ability to solve complex problems including by using data analytics to support solution identification.

    • Demonstrable experience in managing senior stakeholder relationships and providing strategic level reporting to enable effective decision making.

    Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $142,000.00 - $240,000.00.
