Randstad, in partnership with our client, a leading healthcare system, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team in Providence, RI.

Under the general direction of the Manager of Accounting Operations, this position involves performing a variety of professional accounting duties, administering automated sub-systems, monitoring general ledger accounts, and preparing and reviewing entries to ensure the accuracy of account figures. The role also includes preparing numerous accounting and finance-related reports and summaries. The ideal candidate will have substantial exposure to monthly closing processes, forecasting and budgeting, and customer billing. They will be organized and approach each issue with an analytical mindset.

salary: $95,000 - $100,000 per year

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including the timely preparation of monthly financial reports and analyses.

• Maintain and coordinate the accounting interface for major sub-systems such as revenue, payroll, and accounts payable, which feed into the general ledger system.

• Review and prepare journal entries for accounts, ensuring all activities are recorded accurately, and adjustments are calculated and entered for monthly closing processes.

• Identify and resolve accounting errors through trial balance reviews, making appropriate correction entries.

• Review check requests and purchase requisitions to ensure adequate balance in restricted funds and perform monthly reviews of deficit funds.

• Maintain the chart of accounts, ensuring compliance with corporate guidelines, including cost center and account management.

• Assist in the preparation and consolidation of complex financial and statistical reports, providing insights into financial activities and status.

• Analyze general ledger accounts, reviewing entries, and interpreting trends or deviations, and reconciling balance sheet accounts monthly.

• Other Financial projects as needed
