Security Guard

Job Description

Summary: The security team works to create an environment where people feel comfortable coming to them to confide in any issues they are having/seeing to really make sure it is the safest, best place to work.

Day to Day

Monitors complex by performing the following:

o Periodically performs vehicle and foot patrols

o Performs daily guard tours; examines door, windows, and gates to determine if they are secure.

o Submits a survey of daily shift activity to the Security Supervisor

o Writes and details reports via computer.

o Identifies, checks, and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking pipes, and security door(s) left unlocked; observes individuals exiting buildings to guard against theft of company property; sounds alarm or calls police or fire departments in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons. Performs daily equipment checks and temperature checks

Skills and Requirements

Must Haves

2+ years of security related experience

Valid drivers license and clean driving record (will be driving company van around the campus)

First Aide, AED, and CPR certified

Knowledge of how to use Microsoft Word and Excel

Strong people and communication skills

Plusses

Previous military experience null
