Security Analyst

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Security Analyst for a top higher education client in London, ON. In this role, you will be at the forefront of our cybersecurity efforts, providing protection against cyber threats. You will engage in proactive threat hunting, manage compromised accounts, and collaborate with decentralized IT departments to resolve security issues. Additionally, you will be responsible for actioning risk assessments and conducting security reviews to ensure systems remain secure and compliant. Your contributions will be vital in maintaining the integrity and security of the organizations information systems. Note: This role is hybrid (on-site 2-3x/week, and involves rotational all call work).

Responsibilities

Threat Hunting: Proactively search for cyber threats using SIEM and cloud platforms

Ticket Management: Handle level 1 tickets, focusing on low-priority, standard issues using Jira

Incident Response: Address compromised accounts and infected hosts, coordinating with decentralized IT departments to mitigate risks

Risk Assessments and Reviews: Conduct regular risk assessments and security reviews to ensure compliance and enhance security posture

Skills and Requirements

A Bachelors degree in Information Technology or a related field.

1+ years of experience in a similar role

Proven experience with ticketing systems, particularly Jira. Experience with cloud platforms, especially Microsoft.

Familiarity with SIEM tools like Splunk.

Knowledge of endpoint protection tools such as Crowdstrike.

Security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CompTIA Security+).

Scripting experience (e.g., PowerShell, Perl, Python). null
