    Job Summary and Qualifications

    Our Level IV NICU RNs raise the bar by providing clinical expertise and the highest quality care in the most compassionate way. We are an amazing team, that works hard to support each other and are seeking a phenomenal addition like you, who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do.

    Seasonal Program Requirements – Seasonal PRN Status with a Full-Time Schedule – Program Runs 8/25/24-4/5/25

    • All seasonal RNs are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period.
    • Within a close geography, you may be asked to float to another facility that has an emergent staffing need.
    • Four (4) weekend shifts are required each 4 week schedule period.
    • During the course of the 32-week period, the employee is required to work two (2) holiday shifts (defined by Department Manager or designee).
    • Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call-off. There are no guaranteed hours by the hospital.
    • Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for benefits, except 401(k) and retirement contribution per the PRN policy.
    • Seasonal Staff will

      not

      be eligible for extra shift bonuses (D1/CND, D2/ECD, and D3/EVD)
    • Registered Nurses who are in the Seasonal program will have one opportunity to pass the clinical competency evaluation.
    • Current FT/PT & PRN Level 3 employees are not eligible

      to join the Seasonal program for 2024-2025 with the exception of RNs that participated in the Seasonal program in the previous year.
    • Current employees of HWS are

      not eligible

      for the seasonal program.
    • Shifts may vary based on the needs of the department.

    What you will do in this role:

    • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and provide direct patient care
    • Plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources
    • Supervise non-licensed nursing staff within the RN scope of practice and in accordance with established policies
    • Incorporate teaching into all aspects of nursing practice

    What qualifications you will need:

    • ADN is required / BSN is preferred and required within 2 years of hire
    • Texas State RN license or compact license is accepted
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
    • Must have one (1) year recent Level III or IV NICU RN experience in an acute care hospital
    • STABLE must be obtained within 18 months of employment start date
