Astellas Pharma Canada (APCA) is currently searching for a Scrum Lead Corporate Tech.
Description
As a Scrum lead of a team of individuals in a specific area of digital expertise, you will play a crucial role in driving our digital initiatives forward in our agile organization. Our agile operating model consists of Digital Capability and Digital Execution. Digital Execution involves aligning multiple missions around business goals and facilitating collaboration on a larger scale. At the same time, Digital Capability focuses on the growth and development of individuals within a specific expertise area. This dual structure enables us to scale agile practices efficiently while focusing on product development and individual skill enhancement.
As an Enterprise Business Platforms Scrum Lead, you will be pivotal in Agile delivery management. Your responsibility is to facilitate the Scrum process in teams, guiding, facilitating, and coaching them on using Agile/Scrum practices and values. Your leadership helps the team work cohesively to reach their highest potential and ensures the successful delivery of high-quality outcomes within set timelines.
Essential Job Duties
Lead Scrum Ceremonies: Lead daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives for multiple value teams.
Backlog Grooming: Work collaboratively with team members within the chapter and across other digital and business units to keep the backlog current to enhance future sprint planning.
Coach and Mentor: Provide support and training to help the team embrace and implement Agile Scrum methodologies effectively. Guide development teams to higher scrum maturity and create self-organizing teams that are flexible and fully productive during sprints.
Monitor Value Team(s) Progress: Track and communicate team velocity and sprint/release progress to all affected parties. Ensure the accurate maintenance of all documentation related to progress and actions in Agile tracking systems.
Promote Continuous Improvement: Encourage and lead efforts to continuously improve processes and practices based on retrospective outcomes. Support Capability Lead on creating the vision across product/s.
Remove Obstacles: Identify and remove any obstacles or blockers that affect the team's performance.
Conflict Resolution: Help resolve interpersonal conflicts and issues within the team to ensure a productive working environment.
Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between the Value team and stakeholders to ensure clear communication and understanding of progress and needs.
Guard and Enforce Scrum Principles: Safeguard and reinforce Scrum principles, practices, and processes by understanding their importance and functionality within the organization.
Reporting: Regularly report on the progress of the various Value Teams and outcomes to your Capability Lead and team members.
Continuous Learning: Engage in continuous learning and professional development to stay abreast of the latest trends and practices in a specific area of expertise.
Quality Assurance: Ensure the highest quality and consistency in the work delivered.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or similar Agile certification preferred.
Proven experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar role in Agile projects.
Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, artefacts and frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, Lean, XP.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred
Experienced Scrum Lead with experience of facilitating the efforts of multiple internal value teams and across varied products and technology platforms.
Excellent skills in cost control and monitoring value realisation from delivery.
Experience in a complex or highly regulated industry.
Proven track record with CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery.
