    Job Description:

    This experienced senior engineer will work within a Special Programs department supporting multiple programs for a diverse customer base. This team, comprised of engineers from many disciplines, works closely with customers to gain insight into real-world needs, priorities and obtains operational feedback to provide the best system solutions for our users. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for providing engineering leadership and technical expertise requiring both systems and software engineering insights to achieve solutions for various projects/programs. This position requires a self-motivated team player with excellent technical and communication skills.

    Essential Functions:

    • Collaborate with Business area Chief engineers and team members to develop system requirements and strategic plans for execution

    • Guide strategic execution decisions

    • Perform Systems Engineering roles as needed for each program. Tasks could include system requirements, design, development, integration/test, field deployment and operator training.

    • Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis concepts and principles in the development of software for the target application.

    • Respond to customer inquiries

    • Perform as Lead Systems Engineer as required

    • Prepare customer briefings and documentation

    • Prepare hardware and software estimates for customer requested capabilities

    • Create and maintain strong working relationships within the company and with onsite and offsite customers.

    • Provide leadership for programs and products

    • Mentor junior engineers

    • Travel CONUS/OCONUS 10-20%.

    Job Qualification Requirements:

    Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. A degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or closely related technical field is strongly preferred. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.

    • Must possess an active DoD Top Secret (SCI) security clearance with the ability to maintain, which requires U.S. Citizenship.

    • Extensive systems engineering experience.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

    • Must be a self-starter who is comfortable determining program needs and executing them.

    • Ability to work with flexible goals or shifting priorities.

    • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills

    • Mastery of systems engineering concepts and principles

    • Ability to balance multiple projects and competing priorities

    • Solid understanding of systems fundamentals

    • Java understanding and experience

    • Experience with databases and SQL

    • Experience with parallel and multi-threaded programming

    • Ability to learn new concepts quickly and rapidly prototype

    • CI polygraph (or willingness to take one)
