    Job Overview:

    A surgical medical device company is seeking qualified candidates to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a background in either Chemistry or Microbiology, with specific expertise relevant to the medical device industry.

    Chemistry Background:

    Candidates with a Chemistry background should possess the following skills and experience

    • High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC): Proficiency in operating and interpreting results from HPLC equipment for analyzing chemical compounds.

    • Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS): Experience with GC-MS for separating and identifying complex mixtures of substances.

    • Ultraviolet-Visible Spectroscopy (UV-Vis): Knowledge in using UV-Vis spectroscopy for analyzing the absorbance and transmission of UV and visible light in chemical substances.

    • Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR): Familiarity with FTIR for obtaining infrared spectra of absorption or emission of a solid, liquid, or gas.

    Microbiology Background:

    Candidates with a Microbiology background should possess the following skills and experience

    • Bioburden Testing: Experience in performing bioburden testing to determine the number of viable microorganisms on a product or in a sample.

    • Environmental Testing: Proficiency in conducting environmental monitoring to assess the microbial quality of the manufacturing environment.

    • Water Sampling: Expertise in water sampling techniques and analysis to ensure the microbiological quality of water used in the manufacturing process.

    Additional Requirements:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Attention to detail and accuracy in performing tests and interpreting results.

    • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the development and quality assurance of cutting-edge surgical medical devices, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety and efficacy.

    Qualifications:

    BS Degree Chemistry/Microbiology

    1+ year of industry experience (may be open to internship experience as well)
