Description
Job Summary:Position is responsible for all production changeovers and start-ups, focusing on effective, efficient and smooth transitions on the floor for the shift. Provides constant feedback to Sanitation Supervisor/Manager on updates to the production floor and continuous improvements.
Responsibilities of the Position:- Communicate safety as the number one priority for employees by encouraging safe work practices and immediately addressing safety concerns
- Observe and implement safety corrections on assigned lines
- Train employees to work in safe manner
- Oversee multiple line changeovers to ensure proper cleaning is performed, staff are utilized efficiently, and appropriate departments are notified for support in a timely matter.
- Train sanitation leads, production leads, operators and crew on effective sanitation practices in a timely matter.
- Train, manage, clean and troubleshoot sanitation including but not limited to floor scrubber, COP tank, parts washer, dry steam, foamer, vacuums, etc.
- Manages 5S and inventory of sanitation tools, line-specific tooling and equipment.
- Adheres and trains on CW's Pathogen Procedures, including but not limited to Allergen Control and Facility Color Coding procedures.
- Document and execute changeover times and quality swab testing.
- Tests and documents chemical concentrations.
- Ensures sanitation tools, line tooling and equipment, and more are delivered to lines prior to the changeover.
- Ensure equipment is taken apart completely and in an organized manner, followed by guaranteeing proper reassembly of equipment and line.
- Responsible for completion of Line Clearance sheets and file storage per SOP
- Effectively communicates with sanitation department and production on line's changeover status and changeover type (full sanitation, dry clean, partial or packaging change).
- Monitors, directs, and problem solves to improve effectiveness and efficiency of changeovers. Provides suggestions and ideas to management for continuous improvement efforts.
- Effective shift handoff with Sanitation Assistant Supervisors with line changeover, Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and other responsibilities.
- Work closely with Production management to assemble sanitation crews along with reassigning unneeded staff.
- Monitor lines for MSS and housekeeping of allergen and recycling bins per CW's quality procedures.
- Enforce company policies and procedures regarding safety, discipline, cooperation and teamwork.
- Fast-response for safety concerns, including but not limited to blood-borne pathogen containment or food-borne pathogens.
- Able to work a flexible shift; weekend work may be required
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:- Knowledge of basic sanitation principals, allergen program, and preventing foodborne illness
- Preferably speaks in English and Spanish
Education and Experience:- High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience/preferred BA/BS
- Must have 1 year experience in a manufacturing facility that produces food or nutrition products
- 1 year of previous sanitation experience in a manufacturing setting preferred
- Leadership experience preferred
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Working Conditions:- Wet, dry and dusty work environments during sanitation and production periods
- Heavy industrial equipment requiring 2-person lift
- This position may require the employee to work weekends or shifts other than their own to meet the needs of the business.
Physical Requirements:- Operate standard office equipment
- Reach with hands and arms
- Able to lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk for up to 8 hours a day and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach, all with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to work between an office setting and warehouse environment with temperature range of 55 - 80 degrees.
Salary Description
$20 - $28 / hr plus a $1.00 shift differential
