    Are you eager to kick-start your career in safety and risk management? We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Intern to support our team in creating and maintaining a safe work environment in a diverse range of project sites. If you're committed to safety, have a strong attention to detail, and are excited to contribute to real-world safety solutions, this internship is for you!

    In our summer internship program, you'll work alongside professionals in the industry while also engaging in events just for interns, including a jobsite ride along, Insights Discovery Workshop, mentorship opportunities, and more! Our internship program lasts 12-weeks, with flexible start and end dates to meet the needs of your school and extracurricular schedule.

    Responsibilities:
    The responsibilities of the Safety Intern include but are not limited to the following:
    • Responsible for assisting in the aligning and implementing Egan Company Health and Safety Programs and loss prevention initiatives.
    • Assist and learn how to establish loss prevention goals and objectives and incorporate them into the annual business plan.
    • Aid in communication and collaboration with Egan Company staff with respect to loss prevention goals, objectives and key performance indicators.
    • Help with exploring, researching and adapting new products, programs and/or technology that will further enhance the company's loss prevention performance.
    • Observe and learn how to develop field personnel through coaching, feedback, and continued training activities to assist in building the skills necessary to execute work safely.
    • Support in maintaining regulatory compliance with all State and Federal regulations.
    • Learn and retain how to perform frequent job site evaluations, determine employee exposure(s) and institute acceptable work practices.
    • Conduct employee training including new hire orientation, lockout/tagout, respirator, forklift, aerial lifts, etc.
    • Enhance electronic safety programs and records to ensure compliance and increase efficiency.
    • Visit jobsites and customer sites regularly.
    Requirements:
    • In progress for Undergraduate or Masters Degree in Safety-Related degree program.
    • 3.0 GPA or higher given priority consideration.
    • Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle report.
    Qualifications:
    • Interest and ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers.
    • Willingness to learn new ideas and concepts.
    • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
    • Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of internal and external customers.
    Working Conditions:
    • Performance of duties mainly in the office with regular visits to job sites as needed.
    • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
    • Exposure to loud noise, dirt, and exposure to the elements.
    • Climbing ladders/stairs, uneven ground, bending, kneeling, and twisting are to be expected on job sites.
