    Overview of Position:

    Determines financial responsibilities and communicates various payment sources and payment options to reach mutual agreement of effective method of satisfying patient accounts. May also contact third-party payers in regard to reimbursement/follow-up. Assesses patient financial and physical status for possible Medicaid eligibility. Uses independent decision making skills as to patient options affecting outcome of account.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES
    1. Determines financial responsibilities for patients.
    2. Communicates various payment sources and options available to resolve patient balances.
    3. Reviews payment options to reach mutual agreement of effective method of satisfying patient accounts.
    4. May contact third-party payers in regard to reimbursement/follow-up.
    5. Assesses patient financial and physical status for possible Medicaid eligibility.
    6. Uses independent decision making skills as to patient options affecting outcome of account.
    7. Collects patient co-payments and deductibles.
    8. Place outgoing calls on patient accounts for resolution of account balances.
    9. Meet with patients in an inpatient or outpatient setting.
    10. Set up bank loans and pay arrangements on patient's accounts.
    11. Demonstrates knowledge to scan appropriate documents and search for documents in Imaging System.
    12. Consistently coordinates work to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency during the assigned shift.
    QUALIFICATIONS
    1. High school graduate or equivalent.
    2. Attention to detail.
    3. Good communication and effective listening skills.
    4. Working computer knowledge, including experience with Word and Excel.
    5. Clear concise speaking voice.
    6. Effective time management and organizational skills.
    7. Strong mathematical skills.
    8. Ability to prioritize, comprehend and deal with multiple tasks.
    9. Excellent interpersonal, decision-making and problem solving skills.
    10. Demonstrates a pleasant, positive and caring attitude.
